Our Club History
Samba was created to bring the Brazilian way of teaching futsal to kids in San Diego.
Our roots come from the experience of Roberto Velloso, who grew up around the game in Brazil and learned from a family deeply connected to football. His uncle, Paulo César Caju, played alongside Pelé in the 1970 World Cup, a team that shaped the way the world sees the sport.
This history is part of our foundation and inspires the work we do every day.
As the club grew, more families joined, more coaches arrived and new locations opened.
What never changed is our purpose: development first. We respect each phase of childhood and teach with a clear methodology built around real touches on the ball, smart decisions and a positive environment.
Samba became a place where kids feel safe to learn, try, make mistakes and grow. A place where they build confidence, discipline and a true love for the game.
Today, we continue with the same mission.
Give every child a platform to practice often, develop strong habits and carry the joy of the sport for life.
